Increasing Pittsburgh’s Employment Inclusion And Diversity

Through the Corporate Equity & Inclusion Roundtable, the Black Political Empowerment Project is working with local government, corporate, and business leaders to help the Pittsburgh region achieve the highest levels of diversity in employment and contractual opportunities.
One of the best ways reach this goal is through identifying local employment opportunities (at all levels) and sharing this information with the community ;and to highlight those businesses, corporations, and government institutions who are working to make the difference.

The History Center, Fort Pitt Museum, and Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village

The Builders Guild is a unique labor/management

 initiative launched by the building and construction trade unions of western Pennsylvania and local professional contractor associations to promote quality construction, provide a forum for labor and management to work together on issues of common concern, and to create career opportunities for men and women interested in working in the demanding and challenging construction industry.

The Mission of the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh is to enable African Americans to secure economic self-reliance, parity and power, and civil rights. The goal of economic self-reliance is one of the pillars of the Urban League movement. To achieve self-reliance, we must ensure that everyone has equal access to successful employment. The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh provides that access through a wide range of services designed for a diverse workforce with varying needs. The vision of the African American Chamber of Commerce

 is to be the central conduit for African American Business access in all of Western Pennsylvania and to collaborate with other entities, agencies and organizations in support of our mission. Aimed at creating a level playing field to achieve economic parity, the African American Chamber of Commerce will promote the economic agenda of African American business people through advocacy for business access, educational programs, mentoring and member services aimed at empowerment and self-sufficiency.
